Bratanov Chardonnay Beloslava, Bulgarian
White Wine€ 19,80
Rich golden Chardonnay with aromas of warm buttered croissants and a light nutty touch. The body is dense yet velvety, with flavors of buttered toast, nuts, herbs, and vanilla. It finishes long, soft, and memorable. A refined Southern barrique Chardonnay with aging potential to 2026.
BRATANOV Winery is a family enterprise, born from a father and his two sons’ dream to revive their winemaking tradition, joined in 2015 by oenologist Maria Stoeva, a graduate of Dijon, France.
Food pairing
- white meats (chicken, rabbit)
- pork tenderloin with butter sauce or roast lamb with Mediterranean herbs
- risotto and pasta with cream sauces, ravioli with pumpkin filling
This is the eighth vintage of Bratanov’s oak-aged Chardonnay, named after the first girl in the family, Beloslava. Fermented with wild yeast and aged ‘sur lie’ in 10 Bulgarian barrels (30% new) for 11 months, with periodic bâtonnage. Oenologist Maria Stoeva aimed for finesse by reducing the vanilla notes and balancing tannins. After 6 months of bottle aging, the wine shows complexity, excellent oak integration, and freshness. Limited to 5,440 bottles. Natural sediment may occur.
