Gamza Collection by Château Burgozone is a distinguished expression of Bulgaria’s native Gamza variety, cultivated in the estate’s vineyard near the Danube River in Oryahovo. Grown on loess-rich soils and under the influence of a cool river climate, the low-yielding vines (25-30 hl/ha) deliver grapes of excellent aromatic intensity and finesse.
The grapes are manually harvested and sorted, then vinified using a combination of cold pre-fermentation maceration and controlled fermentation to preserve freshness and fruit purity. The wine is aged for 6 months in Bulgarian oak, enhancing its complexity while maintaining its light, expressive character.
In the glass, the wine displays a light ruby-purple hue, typical of the variety. The aroma is lively and layered, offering notes of redcurrant, cherry, dry forest leaves, spices, and subtle hints of chocolate and tobacco.
The palate is crisp and fruit-forward, with flavors of cranberry, redcurrant, cherry, and pomegranate, followed by delicate spices and dark chocolate in the finish. With its light tannins and fresh acidity, Gamza is a versatile wine that pairs wonderfully with duck, roasted vegetables, Italian, Mexican, and Bulgarian dishes.
Part of the COLLECTION series, this wine celebrates tradition with a modern twist and stands out for its authenticity and food-friendliness.
