Red WineA high-quality wine that combines the distinctive qualities of the ancient Bulgarian Mavrud grape variety with the classic Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for over 12 months in French oak barriques, it has developed a complex bouquet of ripe fruit, dried leaves, vanilla, and tobacco. The palate is firm and balanced, with mature tannins and a warm finish.

Bronze Medal – Decanter 2010, England
Three new awards from the prestigious British Decanter competition, held alongside the LIWF 2010 exhibition.
Silver Medal – Mundusvini 2009, Germany
Two silver medals were awarded to Rumelia Winery at the ninth edition of the prestigious international Mundus Vini competition, held in Germany in August.
The wines were evaluated by a 275-member jury of experts from 45 countries, competing among 5,700 wines from 44 different countries.
Honorary Medal – Decanter 2009, England
The winery received its first awards from the United Kingdom – Decanter, one of the competitions held alongside the LIWF (London International Wine Fair).
Tasting Zone – ProWein 2009, Germany
Two of the winery’s wines were selected for the Tasting Zone at the world-renowned ProWein 2008 exhibition. Alongside leading international producers, the wines were given the opportunity to be tasted and evaluated for their quality-to-price ratio by both wine professionals and enthusiasts.
Gold Medal – Mundusvini 2008, Germany
The winery received its first international awards at Mundus Vini. A total of 5,343 still and naturally sparkling wines from 41 countries were evaluated by an international jury. Twenty-four wines received Grand Gold Medals, 450 wines received Gold Medals, and 1,190 wines were awarded Silver Medals.
